Author Veer discusses Call to Action #7.
Introduction
Hello everyone, my name is Veer and I am 19 years old. I am basically from India and currently I am living in Sudbury, and I am completing my studies as automotive service technician in Cambrian collage. I mostly like to play cricket and basketball and my hobbies are reading books and driving. I also love to listen song and I am also a writer. I have written many songs and poetries.
There was a very specific reason for me to choose truth and reconciliation because I love to gain knowledge about the past of area where I live and as I am studying in Canada, I want to learn about education system in Canada then I stared to looking for subjects that can help me to gain such knowledge, then my search ended with this subject.
Section 2

After the effect of residential schools TRC was established to prepare a report on incidents and experience of people at residential schools. After the report was made there were 94 calls of action made according to it, which demands the rights for residential school students.
Call to Action #7: Eliminate educational and employment gaps
This call to action plays a very important role in life of Indigenous people because the progress of this call will help to make Indigenous people equal to non aboriginal people.
In the past when European stated ruling over nations then they had taken all the rights of indigenous people and had taken their land, and the situation was still going on, after the European rule was over residential schools came into play with the motive to destroy indigenous people. so from the whole past indigenous people are facing problem but in this modern era there is equality all over. There should be equality with Indigenous people that may be educational or occupational, so this is the reason for me to choosing this call to action.
Status
This call of action is still “in progress-underway” which means that there are steps taken by government and other organizations for success of this call of action and many funds are provided, but still they are waiting for the success of this call of action.
Section 3: celebrate the good work
There are many people and communities that have contributed for the development of this call of action but there is one who I would like to talk about that is NPAAMB.
This organization provides skill development and training opportunities for aboriginal youth.
Their main motive is to enhance the quality of life of Indigenous people and most important thing that this is non-profit organization.
Section 4: call for more
For peaceful environment and equality with all, Indigenous people should be given equal chances in jobs and education. From the past only they are not treated as a part of society but it is time to correct the mistakes of the past.
We all should never make any kind of bad thoughts against them and if anywhere we see something wrong happening with them then we should be the first to raise the voice against that happening.
